A shocking news has come out from Balochistan. A Baloch activist has exposed a big incident. She has written a letter to more than 23 international human rights organizations, in which the activist has called for immediate action regarding the forced disappearances of women and children in Balochistan over the past several years.
Nazir Noor Baloch, Human Rights Secretary of the Baloch National Movement, wrote to human rights organizations including the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCR), Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP). In his letter, he highlighted the major incident, mentioning the recent disappearance of women and children from the gig on April 22, 2022. Regarding the incident, he told that Pakistani security forces raided a house and forcibly disappeared a man identified as Haroon Baloch along with two women.
Baloch said in his letter, “For the last two decades, Balochistan is facing the worst human rights violations. As a result of the collective punishment, the Baloch people are being victimized on a daily basis by the Pakistani security forces. He further said that to highlight these atrocities and human rights abuses, political parties and human rights organizations of Balochistan have organized several awareness programs to explain the situations to international organizations like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
Nazir Noor Baloch wrote in the letter that the worrying situation of forced disappearance in Balochistan is a big crisis today. Noor Baloch National Movement is a political party, which is fighting for the rights and sovereignty of Baloch people in the country. He further added in his letter, ‘It has exposed Pakistani atrocities on various platforms. As a result of exposing these human rights abuses, so far, many of its members have been subjected to forced disappearances.
