JCD faction put BNP headquarters under lock and key

The members of a faction of the newly dissolved committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) have kept the party’s Nayapaltan central office under lock and key.

Hundreds of leaders and activists of the faction locked the main gate of the party headquarters around 11 am today over the formation of the new committee.

Vice-President of the outgoing JCD committee Mamun Billah said: “We have placed a number of recommendations before the central committee regarding the formation of the new body.”

“But, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi suddenly dissolved the committee instead of implementing our recommendations,” he added.

Mamun further said we will announce tougher programmes if our demands are not met.

Party insiders said all decisions regarding the formation of the new committee will come from party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
