President attends Pahela Baishakh’s function at Dhaka cantonment

President M Abdul Hamid today attended a cultural function at Kurmitola Golf Club of Dhaka Cantonment on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year 1426.

The head of the state exchanged Pahela Baishakh’s greetings with senior officers of armed forces and their family members.

President’s family members, including his wife Rashida Khanom and son Rejwan Ahammad Taufiq, MP, and Bangabhaban officials accompanied the President in the celebration’s programme.

Dhaka Ladies Club organised the programme under the supervision of the Bangladesh Army.

On arrival at the Golf Club, President Hamid and Begum Hamid were received by Prime Minister’s Defence and Security Adviser Major General (retired) Tarique Ahmed Siddique and Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed in the evening.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral AMMM Aurangzeb Chowdhury and senior military and civil officials were also present.

The President Hamid also took part in a photo session with the performers of the armed forces and their family members after the cultural function.

The President and other invited guests were entertained with dinner.
