Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said there is no scope to consider BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s parole unless she seeks it.
“BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s remarks (regarding parole) are baseless and unrealistic…. Begum Zia was awarded imprisonment on corruption charges,” he told journalists after the inaugural function of a two-day youth conference in the city.
Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) is organizing the conference at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) here.
PKSF Chairman Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad chaired the inaugural function while its Managing Director Md Abdul Karim and Deputy Managing Director Dr Md Zasim Uddin spoke on the occasion.
Dr Hasan said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is getting better treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
He urged the BNP leaders not to do politics over the medical treatment of Begum Zia.
