Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mostafa Jabbar today said three hi-tech parks would be set up in Chatogram to create technology-based employment opportunities side by side with creating scope for earning foreign currency and attracting foreign investment as well.
Jobber said there existed huge potentiality in the IT sector and software industry with lots of Bangladeshi talents who will be able to contribute to the expansion of IT industry.
He said the government is going to establish 28 high-tech IT parks and a software technology parks in every district gradually, including three in Chattogram.
The minister was talking to the journalists after visiting three proposed sites of hi-tech parks at city’s Bahaddarhat, Sitakunda and Chattogram University this afternoon.
Jabbar said the global IT sector has a shortage of skilled manpower and Bangladesh can avail this opportunity by creating quality human resources.
Speaking on the occasion, city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said in line with the plan to build Digital Bangladesh as chartered out in the ‘Vision-2021’, the government has put thrust on the use of ICT for improving productivity, governance, service delivery and development of IT industry.
Senior government officials and private investors accompanied the minister.
