Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the people of the country have made Sheikh Hasina victorious with a huge margin in the polls, rejecting the BNP for its negative politics.
The AL general secretary made the remark while addressing a public rally at Hatiya Dwip Government College ground here this afternoon.
Hatiya Upazila unit of Awami League organized the rally with its President Professor Wali Ullah in the chair. Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, local lawmaker Ayesha Ferdous and Upazila Parishad Chairman Mahbub Murshed Liton addressed the rally, among others.
Quader said it is not expected that the people of Hatiya would be the victims of disasters in darkness in the illuminated and digital Bangladesh of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Steps will be taken to prevent river erosion, setting up electricity lines and renovating roads in Hatiya, he added.
Earlier, the minister visited the river erosion area at Nalchira Ghat at Hatiya and distributed clothes among the destitute women.
