Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, yesterday called for uprooting militancy and securing peace to keep up the pace of unprecedented development in the country.
“The unprecedented development initiated under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina could not be secured until militancy is uprooted,” he said.
The minister said it was important that militancy should be uprooted and partisanship, disparity should be eliminated. “Only then the poor people will get benefit of development,” Inu said.
The minister was addressing a meeting of elites and JSD workers at the local Circuit House.
He said political workers will be active at the ground level for eliminating militancy. “Only awareness of the masses could identify the secret hideouts of militants”, he said.
Inu appreciated the role of the media in fight against militancy.
